Unionbank EON Card Paypal

For 4 days, I have been working with this thing and gladly I finally got verified. By becoming verified in Paypal you can withdraw your funds easily and will not have withdrawal limits anymore. This makes it easier to withdraw bigger cash from your Paypal to your Bank Account.

I registered for EON Card in Unionbank PH near the University that I'm having my college. The teller told me to come back after 2 weeks before getting the card. It was that long- but I guess it's because I am living in the south of Philippines. After 2 weeks, I came back to the bank. They gave me my EON Card after paying the Annual fee of 350 Pesos.

When I came to school, I immediately opened up my computer and browsed to my Paypal account to link my EON Credit Card. After inputting the necessary details for linking the card, I still got denied. Paypal keeps telling me that my credit card was denied by the bank that issued it and told me to go to the customer service of that bank.

I went to their website and reported the error. Then, I just read that it needs 24 hours before activation. So I waited again. While waiting I registered for the Cyber Account to view my account online (e-banking), but it needs 48 hours before being activated.

Browsing back to Paypal and putting the necessary information-I still got denied. I really wondered why. I went to the customer service of the bank and told them that I was denied in Paypal. They told me that I need to have at least 100 Pesos in my ATM so that Paypal can verify it, so I deposited. After that, I tried it again. But it was still the same. I went back to the bank and told them again. The teller asked me, did you really put the necessary information of your EON card? I told him yes, I did. Then he asked me if Paypal asked for the expiration date. Of course, Paypal did and I told him that I got it correctly. So he asked me what did I entered. I said, I entered May 2011. No sir, your EON cards expiration date is 5/13 it means May 2013.

I just realized that I really did it wrong. I thought that card expires yearly since I need to pay for the 350 Pesos annual fee. I went back to Paypal and entered it. Finally, it was accepted. Paypal told me to wait for 2-3 days before receiving the transaction details. There is a code in that transaction that Paypal needs to confirm that the bank is correct. It did not take that long. After one day I went to my cyber account and checked for the last 10 transactions and it was there.
I went back to Paypal and put the codes that they asked. Then I got verified!

Now I don't have Paypal withdrawal limits and I can withdraw my money in Paypal easily!

    Good Morning.

I already have my paypal account and that was a long time ago (2008) and there is a little amount of dollar. If I am going to apply and activate for EON Card, there will be a possibility that I can still withdraw it?

  • June 14, 2010 at 12:21 PM | Permalink

    Hi Dal,

Good Morning too. Yes you can still withdraw it as long as you have access to your Paypal Account. It was the same case with mine. I have my Paypal account registered last August 2008 and some money in there. Just this year, I came back just to get it. I registered for EON Cyber Account to lift my withdrawal limit. Because if you don't link your credit card (EON) you can't withdraw money to your bank since your withdrawal limit will be 0.00 USD.

    Hope it helps.

    Best,

    Jin

    Hello. Back again here!

Ah. So, we have the same case.I am planning to get an EON Card within this week, because I read in your entry that it takes 2 weeks to be activated.

    It really helps a lot!

    Thanks Again ;)

    waaaaaaa. im so envious....

buti ka pa may EON account na. i was supposed to apply last month, but i was leaving for cebu and 2 weeks pa daw bago makuha ang card. so supposedly, magaaply na ako dito. ano ba ang requirements? diba 2 valid IDs lang? and you need to deposit 100 right away? or the day after pa?

actually im not in a hurry man din kasi im saving up my credits to buy my own camera. hehehe. may charge ba for withdrawing?

    @Megan Dal

    Hello Dal,

You have it mistaken. I think I have said that it takes 2 weeks of processing and before your card will be delivered in your place. But yeah, it really took me 3 weeks to have it functioning. (LOL)

    Best,

    Jin

    @Raiiiiiie

    Hello Ma'am,

It's been a while. This is your first comment in my blog. haha. Yup Ma'am two valid IDs. But ako, 1 ID lang, kasi student.. tapos Birth ung pinakita ko.. Pero dapat NSO, ung certified.

HUHUHU! I was having a hard time awhile agoooo... Nagkuha sila ng SSS and TIN # from me. I forgot to said that i am a student! Anyways, 350 lang opening noh? Is there any deductions? Hope to hear from you soon.

  • June 19, 2010 at 11:48 AM | Permalink

    Hi Dal,

Wala na deductions yan. Pero remember kailangan mo mag deposit ng at least 100 pesos. If you don't di mo ma.activate Paypal. May deductions din talga sa Paypal.

I dont know if it is activated already. 3 days have passed since i got it. the problem is i cant enroll in EON cyber account. i put my atm card number and pin but it says invalid pin. how come it is invalid? i tried and tried hanngang maximum trials reached. may gnyan na lumabas. Help naman po. How can i get my expuse number? How will i know if my account is activated? need help badly:(

    Hi Mark,

Have you paid the 350 Annual pay for the EON Service? You're going to need it before it will be going to be activated. Once you're done paying. You card will be activated in 24 hours. To enroll in the EON Cyber Account. You're going to register the card first. Use the card number not the account number. Card number is the bigger font in the middle of the card. It is composed of 16 Digits, usually starts at number 4.. I.E. XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.

To register you need to take out those dashes (-). In entering the pin, use the pin that Unionbank gave you. It's written in a paper you got upon receiving the card too.

Now, wait for 48 hours before your Cyber Account will be activated. You will receive an email from unionbank notifying you that the account was created.

You will receive your expuse number from paypal after the card is verified. Remember to have at least 100 PHP deposit in your EON ATM account.

I hope this helps you Mark.

    Best,

    Jin

    @Jin

Thank you for the response po. Yes i paid 350. i went to the bank last thursday and ask for their help. they said they need to replace my eon card because the pin is not valid. no matter how many times they enter the pin, it always says invalid pin. so they want me to wait for another week before i get a new eon card :(
i also deposited 500PHP when i applied for eon.
I hope by next week i can enroll in cyber account. their site is sometimes unaccessible.
just want to ask another question.
if i can get my eon card by friday will it be activated by saturday? banks are closed on saturday.
Thank you again. Hope i can verify my paypal account soon.

  • July 2, 2010 at 11:36 PM | Permalink

    @mark

Yes, it should be activated 24 hours after you paid for the EON Card. The site is really annoying too. I often ran into the same problem with you. Have you tried accessing your account in the ATM Machine? You might have changed the pin. Anyways, I hope you will get it working soon.

Just message me here once you have a problem again.

    Ciao!

siguro ok naman na siya withdrawal on proces na siya
sa palagay mo magkakaproblem ba ako?

  • July 12, 2010 at 2:05 PM | Permalink

    Hi lara,

    Mag kaka problem ka talaga.
Some people have claimed that they can use their eon account as Bank account in paypal. Though it can still function as a bank account when you withdrew money in an ATM Machine, but it is not registered as an atm account. Magkaka problema ka talaga. :D Kagaya ng nangyari sa akin. incorrect information ang sabi ng PAypal. pero when I checked the information that I gave them.. tAMa naman xa.. :D Booom.. nwala 300 php ko. XD

KAya yun,, I conclude that hindi mo xa magamit as a bank account in paypal. Card withdrawal ka talaga. It will cost you 250 pesos.

i recommend na gamitin mo nalang as withdrew to card instead sa bank account. it will really take a long time. and then,... Kung may ATM card ka.. ung as in Atm talga.. gamitin mo nlang un.. Like ung sa BDO ATM MO dati,.

    Good luck,

Welcome to paypal's world. where one day they will hold your account due to some suspicious activity. and what was that suspicious activity? it was PAYPAL charging US$ 1.95 for expanded use which you need to do to link your EON to paypal. this happened around 2008 and it happened again this year, just a week ago and this time the suspicious activity was some third party accessed my account. horror of horrors! somebody accessing my account that scary! anyways i change my password and stuff sent documents to paypal to verify my identity and my account was restored the next day. honestly seeing my account frozen almost gave me a heart attack :) why stick with paypal then? i use paypal heavily for 1 of my online business and some online advertisers pay me via paypal. Putting my negative experience aside EON-Paypal is an awesome combination. i have withdrawn money many times without a hitch.

    hi Jeanie,

You will not going to have a problem with that as long as you input the full name (incomplete or complete) that was used to register your EON Card.

    Good luck,

    Hi 1ijack,

That comment is funny. Paypal charge $1.95 for verification purposes only, right? That money will be added to your account in your Paypal after verifying.

    Thank you for sharing.

    Hi Jin,

I am just wondering, is there any deductions when you withdraw funds from paypal to you EON card?
And is it still the common process of withdrawing by "withdraw to bank"? If not, how?

    Thank you,
    DJ

  • July 30, 2010 at 3:03 PM | Permalink

    @boojob

    hi there!

Yes there is a deduction. 250PHP.
You can choose the other option.
Instead of withdraw to bank, choose withdraw to card instead.

    Hello po!

I would just like to ask..this is quite idiotic and moronic but I'd better ask kesa naman mgmukha akong tanga lalo. Anyway, it's my first time to withdraw in paypal and I chose "withdraw to your bank account" option to avoid the Php250 charge. does this mean that i'll get the money over the counter once it is transferred to my EON? I'm just worried because there are some bank branches that won't allow you to withdraw over the counter if your atm card is working..pls reply po..thanks!

  • August 23, 2010 at 12:31 PM | Permalink

    Hello Xymyr,

You should not withdraw to your bank account if you're using the EON Card as the ATM.

The money you tried to withdraw will be returned back to your account with the deduction of 250.

You must withdraw to your card if using EON.

Unless you have another bank account registered in your Paypal, you can use to withdraw it there instead.

    Best Regards and Good Luck!

    Hello Theisa!

It seems that the one you're registering is not the EON Cyber Account.
Check out the website again unionbankph.com and look for the EON Cyber Account button and then click it. A window will pop-up. Make sure you allow the website to have pop-ups.

    Follow the instructions there carefully.

    Hello,

Applied for EON last month. I received it yesterday (which is already sitting in the bank for 2 weeks, I just don't have the time to visit the bank because of the bust sched) and they told me it is ready to use and I paid them the 350 annual fee. So, I quickly changed pin and registered for online account (which takes 48 hours daw). Then I withdrew 8k from paypal to that account to test if it is working. All done yesterday. Do you think it will work? Or will it respond an error because I did it all in the same day? I'm really bankrupted now and I really need to withraw all my paypal funds(which is not that much). Or else I will eat plain rice with no ulam, just 'pengeng sabaw at patoppings na lang po' for 2 weeks. Thanks!

  • November 10, 2010 at 7:20 AM | Permalink

    Hi Chi!

How did you withdraw your money from Paypal? If you were able to withdraw that much money, that means you already verified your Paypal account right?

Did you register your EON account in your Paypal? If yes, is it as a Credit Card, or a Bank Account?

If you have read the whole story in this post you might get a hint if the way you did it will fail or not.

The processing usually takes longer, depending as to how the fast the Unionbank EON staff responds.

Now, if your Paypal is already verified it will not have a problem, except if you added your EON as a bank account and not as a credit card.

Your EON Account can be used for banking, deposit funds, and withdraw funds. But Paypal doesn't consider that. In my experience, I added my EON as a bank account too. When I withdrew my money to EON as a bank, after several days of waiting it failed with a deduction of 250PHP.

I hope to hear from you soon Chi! God Bless and Good Luck!

I just want to know what is the difference between withdrawing funds to bank account and withdrawing funds to card and which is better?

I usually withdraw funds to bank account but I haven't tried withdrawing to my card. I'm using EON btw.

Thanks in advance for for your response.

  • December 2, 2010 at 11:59 AM | Permalink

    Hi Kram,

I found no difference between the two. If you withdraw money, lesser than 7,000 php in paypal you will still get a deduction of 250 as I remember.

If you have been withdrawing funds to your bank account, just continue to do so.

    :)

    Hello Leah,

It will usually take longer. 7 days is the longest for it to arrive.

Did you use withdraw money to bank or withdraw money to card?

If you withdrew to bank then it will really fail. Read posts and comments above so that you will know other peoples' experiences.

    Hi takz,

    Is that your real name?

Anyway, it will not be in US money. It will automatically be converted to Peso depending on the current exchange rate the time you are trying to withdraw the money.

Remember that there are charges if the amount your withdrawing is less than 7,000 PHP (not sure about this anymore).

    Good Luck,

It'll be okay as long as you didn't use EON to withdraw your money. I just use EON to buy stuff in the internet, not for withdrawing money.

To withdraw money, I use a different Bank Account. What I mean here is an ATM Bank Account. Not EON which is a debit card. :D

Hi Joane, I haven't been updating my blog lately (actually I stopped) so that is why I was not able to answer your question immediately. If it is not too late, hear me out.

Adding your EON debit card to your Paypal Verifies your account. Which means, you will not have the withdrawal limit anymore. If you plan to withdraw it to your EON card, it will reflect in your account around 7 days. I suggest using a regular ATM Account instead. You'll get it around 3-4 days. Hope that will help you. God bless.

    Hi einjelsendoh,

Sorry for the very late response. Just make sure you have around 150 Php in your EON account so that Paypal can process the transaction.

    Hi,

I actually opened my EON account 7 days ago. I have more than 2000 in my account. Also, I kept coming back but the online customer service and the bank kept telling me to do this, go consult the other, blah blah. Earlier today, I went to the bank again. They said that I have to wait for a confirmation in my email. I just wanted to know if that happened to you. Thank you.

I don't have a full understanding of your issues Miss Lopez, what were you trying to do? Verify your paypal account?
